No one knows what direction he is going; everyone tries to get out and will do anything to do it! The people who came to Jesus in our text were crying “Fire! Fire!” But Jesus doesn’t panic! He doesn’t take sides; he doesn’t give in to the panic. He talks instead about repentance.
