Have you ever seen time-lapse photography on TV? For example, you see a seed planted in the ground and almost immediately the seed sends out a shoot, which appears to burst through the surface of the ground. The tender shoot twirls around a bit and shoots up, straight and tall. Before you know it, the shoot has grown a massive bud, which then opens before your eyes revealing a beautiful flower. That time-lapse certainly shows the wonderful power in God’s creation. This morning using that same picture we will see how the Lord uses two short parables to illustrate the wonderful power of his Word.
